Carpe Diem

If I am to ever get started, I must seize the day.  This new year of 2011 has already included some very momentous days for our family.  God is richly blessing our family!
Our Mary got married this past Friday to Bob.  They had a simple ceremony at the courthouse in Portales.  She now shares the name Mary Allen with Bob's grandmother. We welcome another son into our family and pray that their marriage is blessed by God.
Mikie, Heidi, and baby Ella were in a wreck last week in which their car was totaled but they survived unscathed except for a severe fright of which I shared.  We are so thankful to the Lord for keeping his hands over them.
Elizabeth witnessed a scary wreck at an intersection near her apartment last week.  Just after she went through an intersection, a truck ran the red light and hit another vehicle, spun it around.  It crashed into a signal light and the light crashed to the ground.  Her father and I are acutely aware that God is watching out for our beloved children.
John, Shy and I have been trying to include some activity into our lives.  We hiked Horace Mesa yesterday and a trail leading off of Coal Mine Campground today.  Lucy loves being included in these walks!
I have been knitting the first Christmas gift for 2011.  It is a sweater for Ella.  I have learned several new skills and I am really happy with my progress.
2011 is starting off with more blessings than you can shake a stick at!  I am blessed!
